Day 01: Arrive Delhi - Welcome to capital of India, Delhi. Delhi is one of the most important metropolis in India, as it is the city of power. It has a very good combination of both modern, as well as ancient culture. Arrive Delhi and meet our company representative with an Indian greeting and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Delhi.
Day 02: In Delhi - After breakfast this morning proceed for sightseeing tour of New & Old Delhi. Visit The Red Fort, which was built in 1648 by Mughal Emperor Shahjehan and the Jama Masjid, which is one of the largest mosques in India and the Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana are the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru respectively and make for a peaceful retreat. Visit the 12th Century Qutab Minar; gracefully fluted and hand carved for its entire height of 234 feet. Also, visit the graceful mausoleum of the Mughal Emperor Humayun and the modern Birla Temple. Day 03: - Lucknow by Train and drive to Sravasti, early morning transfer to Railway Station to board Train to Lucknow. Arrive Lucknow and drive to Sravasti, the capital of the ancient kingdom of Kosala, a revered Buddhist destination founded by the mythological king, Sravast has age-old stupas, majestic monasteries and several temples. Sravsti is known for sheltering Buddha for 24 rainy seasons in the Jetvana Gardens. Lord Buddha is said to have performed the only miracles of His life to convince the non-believers at Sravasti. On arrival Sravasti check in hotel. In Sravasti, visit Jetavana Vihara, a holy place where the Buddha stayed for 24 years in Sravasti, Shobhanath temple, the birthplace of a Jain saint, Sambhavnath and also visits the extensive ruins of the villages of Saheth and Maheth.In the evening return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Sravasti.
Day 04: Lumbini – 180 Kms – 4 hours drive Drive to Lumbini the birth place of Lord Buddha. En-route visit the little village of Kapilavastu( Piprahwa) a very important Buddhist pilgrimage which attracts tourists from across the globe. Kapilavastu was the ancient capital of the Sakya Clan; Kapilavastu is the birth place of Prince Siddhartha (Gautam Buddha) where he spent his childhood and left his palace in Kapilavastu at the age of 29 and revisited it 12 years later, long after he had attained education. A large Stupa stands at this ancient site, which is said to have the bone relics of Buddha. We continue our drive to Lumbini (95 Kms. from Kapilavastu). Situated across the Border in Nepal, Lumbini is the Birth Place of Lord Buddha. Arrive Lumbini and check-in at Hotel. Later, visit the Ashokan Column, the famous Rummindei Pillar, which commemorated the emperor’s visit in 249 B.C. It still stands to mark the sacred spot of Buddha’s nativity. Overnight stay at Lumbini.
Day 05: Kushinagar – 165 Kms – 4 hours drive Morning proceed Mahaparinirvana Temple, Kushinagar Mahaparinirvana Temple, Kushinagar for the sightseeing tour of Lumbini, the birthplace of Prince Siddhartha. Day 06: Patna – 231 Kms – 5 hrs drive Morning drive to Patna. En-route visit Vaishali, which is believed to be the first republic of the world,Vaishali has taken its name from King Vishal of the Mahabharat age. Vaishali is a great Buddhist pilgrimage and also the birthplace of Lord Mahavira. At Kolhua, Lord Buddha delivered his last sermon, hinting at his impending departure from the mortal world and announced his Nirvana here.Vaishali is famous for Amrapali, the beautiful dancer and courtesan of Vaishali, who offered Buddha a mango orchard and was so impressed by his teachings that she later became a nun (Bhikshu). Place to visit at Vaishali, Ashoka Pillar at Kolhua, commemorates Buddha’s last sermon, the Bawan Pokhar temple, the Abhishek Pushkarani or the coronation tank of the Lichchavi’s and the Shanti Stupa or pillar of peace. Continue drive to Patna. Arrive Patna and check-in at Hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Patna.
Day 07: Bodhgaya – 111 Kms – 2 hours drive Morning drive to Bodhgaya. En-route visit Nalanda, is famous as the ancient seat of learning. The ruin of the world’s most Buddhist University during the lifetime of the Buddha Rajgir. In this first residential international university of the world, 2,000 teachers and 10,000 monks students from all over the Buddhist world lived and studied here. The Chinese chronicler Huien Tsang spent many years here, both as a student and a teacher. Later, visit Rajgir is situated in a lush green valley together with five hills and historic stonewalls and the ancient capital of the Magadh Kings. Buddha came here often. Rajgir is an important place of pilgrimage for Hindus as the temple complex here is dedicated to the Sun God. Arrive Bodhgaya and check-in at Hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Bodhgaya.
Day 08: Bodhgaya - In the morning after having breakfast ready for a visit to Bodhgaya, where Buddha received Supreme Knowledge on the banks of river Nirnjana. Bodhgaya Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhgaya Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhgaya is the spiritual home of the Buddhists. Bodhgaya is one of the most important and sacred Buddhist pilgrimage center in the world and famous for being the place of Buddha’s attainment of Enlightenment .Visit the Mahabodhi Temple Complex houses all the major pilgrimage spots and Lord Buddha Temple.Also visit Pretshila Hill on top of the hill is the Ahilya Bai Temple, which has magnificent sculptures, the Barabar Caves and the Bodhgaya museum it has a large collection of Buddhist and Hindu relics, scriptures and pillars from the Sunga period. Day 09: Varanasi – 240 Kms – 5 hours drive Morning drive to Varanasi. En-route visit Sarnath, 10 Kms. east of Varanasi, Buddha preached his first significant sermon to his five disciples in Sarnath only. He came here after achieving enlightenment at Bodhgaya.It is one of Buddhism’s major centers in India. Also visit the deer park, the Museum of Sarnath and temples in the city. After lunch Continue drive to Varanasi. Arrive Varanasi and check-in at Hotel. Evening see the “aarti” ceremony on the banks of the river Ganges and stroll along the narrow lanes and bazaars full of shops selling the world-famous Banaras Silks among many other things. Overnight at Hotel in Varanasi.
Day 10: Varanasi - Delhi - In the early morning we take boat – ride on the holy River Ganges and enjoy sunrise on the boat to observe the way of life of pilgrims by the Ghats. Thousands of pilgrims and devotees visit this city to make holy prayers, to meditate and to purify themselves through taking a bath in the holy river Ganges. Visit the Dashashwamedh Ghats is the main and perhaps the oldest Ghats of Varanasi located on the Ganges close to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Later transfer to Airport to board flight for Delhi. Meet the Carmel representative at arrival hall and transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Delhi.
